Helping you to lay the foundations to help your dog feel safer and
happier on walks when there are unfamiliar dogs.
I help people reconnect with their dog, ease their stress and make walks enjoyable for
you both again.
This is delivered through a programme with community calls, accessible content and
webinars.
This means less stress on walks taking into account the mental and physical
wellbeing of you and your dog.
It can feel overwhelming and upsetting when people are giving you judgemental looks on walks when you're dog is feeling worried or frustrated.
With so much advice online, and in books, it can be hard to know where to start. Some advice may feel wrong to you, and not in line with your values.
It's time that you get the support you and your dog deserve.
By focusing on your specific dog and you we manage stress, reactive displays, and support sleep. I look at what is the root cause of the behaviour (is your dog saying "leave me alone" or are they frustrated that they cannot access the dog because of the lead). Having an understanding of the motivation behind the behaviour will help make your walks less stressful.
As a dog behaviourist who studied with the University of Edinburgh, I combine science based strategies with out the jargon, which provides a holistic approach to your dogs reactivity.
How we work together
• A 30 min 1-2-1 coaching session
• Recordings on specific training topics relevant for you and your dog
• Access to the private St Paws community group with webinars and accountability calls
Who does it help?
This helps people who's dogs are barking and lunging on the other end of the lead.
A Reactivity member may recognise some of these statements:
• I don’t want to do one thing and create a new problem. I feel overwhelmed
• My dog is hurting themselves on walks by pulling
• I can’t cope with this and it is affecting my relationship
• People are shouting at me beacuse of my dog's behaviour making walks stressful and unbearable
• I don’t know how to read my dog’s body language
• They lunge and bark on the other end of the lead
• I want to get things back on the right track
• I’m worried about having a reactive dog.
• I love my dog but her behaviour is making life really tough
• I’m avoiding trips away with my dog
• I’m really confused and at a loss of what to do – there are so many arm chair dog trainers around giving advice in the park
• Something needs to change but I don't know where to start
What are the results?
This programme encompasses the mental and physical health of a dog and how they feel around triggers in combination with training. These elements cannot be separated. A Reactivity Relief member may find they have positive results with the following areas:
• Their dog is checking in with them on walks.
• Their dog is not barking and lunging on the other end of the lead.
• Their dog is not being hypervigilant on walks
• They are not dreading walks and avoiding locations
• Their dog walks politely on the lead
• They feel more relaxed on walks and more connected with their dog
• They can spot signs their dog is going over threshold and feeling worried
• Walks are enjoyable
• They feel confident in training their dog
• They understand their dogs triggers and what to do.
